Delivery & Shipping Policy

 

Our standard delivery charge for UK mainland deliveries (includes Scottish Highlands) is £4.99. Orders over £75 to UK mainland addresses are free standard delivery within 2 day (this does not include Saturday). Otherwise, delivery charges are calculated on weight, simply add the products you would like to your basket and add your delivery address to see the delivery cost.

Delivery days

Any UK mainland (excluding Scottish Highlands) order placed before 10am from Monday to Thursday will normally be delivered within 2 days before 7pm for APC Overnight and 9pm for DPD (Wednesday-Saturday), with the exception of orders which include Fresh Fish and Bulk Orders. The earliest delivery day after a bank holiday is Wednesday.

The following postcodes are classed as Scottish Highlands & Islands and delivery may take additional 24hrs: AB31-35, AB36-38, AB41-45, AB51-54, AB55-56, BT1-99, FK17-21, IV1-39, IV52-54, IV63, KW1-10, KW18-99, PA21-40, PH18-29, PH32-33, PH45-48.

Please choose either a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday as your delivery day if you live in one of the above postcodes to ensure that your order is delivered on time.

Delivery Method

Food INC deliveries are facilitated through its courier partners and are typically completed within a timeframe of up to 2 working days.

We will dispatch our products in specially designed cardboard boxes to any location within the mainland UK. Our chosen courier will pick up completed orders from the eFoodsDirect depot and deliver them directly to your doorstep. During the online purchase process, customers have the option to provide additional delivery instructions. Delivery attempts are made at least once on the scheduled day, and in some cases, the courier may deliver the package to a neighboring house two doors up or down from the specified delivery address.

Comprehensive instructions for package collection are provided on the instruction card at the delivery address. If delivery is not possible on the designated day, the courier will return the package to the local depot and make another attempt on the next working day. Subsequently, parcels must be collected from the local delivery depot. Unclaimed parcels are returned to the Food INC depot.

For DPD deliveries, attempts are made on day 1, and if unsuccessful, another attempt will be made on the following day. It's important to note and adhere to the outlined delivery and collection procedures to ensure a smooth process.

We take great care in packaging your order to ensure its safe and secure delivery. Our packaging process involves several key steps:

  1. Specially Designed Boxes:

    We use specially designed cardboard boxes that are tailored to the size and nature of the items in your order. These boxes are chosen to provide optimal protection during transit.
  2. Secure Packaging:

    Each item is carefully wrapped and secured within the box to prevent any damage or breakage during transportation. We use appropriate padding materials, such as bubble wrap or packing peanuts, to add an extra layer of protection.
  3. Labeling and Documentation:

    Every package is labeled accurately, detailing the destination and any specific handling instructions. We also include all necessary documentation, such as shipping labels and invoices, to ensure a smooth delivery process.
  4. Courier Collection:

    Once your order is packaged and ready, our selected courier partners collect the packages from our depot. We work closely with reliable courier services to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
  5. Direct Delivery to Your Door:

    The courier delivers your package directly to the specified delivery address. We aim to make the delivery process as convenient as possible for our customers.
  6. Additional Delivery Instructions:

    Customers have the option to provide any specific delivery instructions during the online purchase process, allowing for a more personalized delivery experience.
  7. Delivery Attempts and Alternatives:

    Our courier service attempts delivery at least once on the scheduled day. In some cases, if the initial attempt is unsuccessful, the courier may explore alternatives, such as delivering to a neighboring house. Full instructions for such scenarios are provided on the instruction card at the delivery address.
  8. Return and Collection Procedures:

    If delivery is not possible on the designated day, the courier may return the package to the local depot for another attempt on the next working day. Customers are then required to collect the parcel from the local delivery depot. Unclaimed parcels are returned to our depot.

The method we employ to prepare your order for delivery.

Our dedicated team goes the extra mile to ensure the utmost care in selecting and meticulously packing your shopping on the very day of delivery. To guarantee the peak freshness and quality of your meat and frozen items during their journey to your doorstep, we employ a sophisticated system. This involves utilizing isothermal insulated foil bags carefully placed within robust double-wall cardboard boxes.

In this meticulous packaging process, we don't stop there. Our specially designed ice packs, strategically positioned alongside your perishables, are integral to maintaining the required temperature throughout transit. These ice packs, made with a water-based gel, not only contribute to the preservation of a cool environment within the leak-proof and resilient insulated cardboard box but also extend their effectiveness for up to 48 hours.

Picture this: the carefully chosen meat and frozen products, cocooned within the layers of isothermal insulation, sealed within the protective confines of the double-wall cardboard box. The ice packs, frozen to precision, act as guardians of temperature, ensuring that your items arrive at your doorstep as fresh as they were when they left our facility.

Moreover, even in the unlikely event that the ice eventually melts, fear not. It undergoes a seamless transformation into a gel, providing an added layer of protection against any potential moisture impact on the delivery. This comprehensive approach not only safeguards the integrity of your purchases but also reflects our commitment to delivering not just groceries but an experience that exceeds expectations.

 

Storage of Frozen Fish Products

We understand the importance of maintaining its pristine quality, and we're here to guide you through the optimal storage procedures.

For an ideal experience, it's recommended to keep your fresh product refrigerated at a temperature of 5°C or below. However, if you decide to freeze it for future use, we suggest doing so on the very day of delivery. Preserving the product's quality during freezing is crucial, and to achieve this, it should be kept in its original packaging. To keep track of the freezing date and ensure the freshest taste, consider labeling the products with the date they are placed in the freezer.

While frozen, we advise consuming the product within three months to guarantee the best possible quality upon thawing. Before cooking, it's imperative to thoroughly defrost the product. Please note that once a product has been defrosted, we strongly recommend against refreezing it to maintain its texture and flavor profile.
